I love this idea. Some folks in WA, protesting the state’s stance on gay marriage and its reliance on the notion that marriage is for procreation, are circulating a petition to require straight couples to have children within a period of time or, oops, null and void. Now, no, they’re not serious, but the concept is. So many “arguments” that keep people down are grounded in not-good nonsense so let’s call people on them. Don’t believe in Social Security, you good little Libertarians you? Then you get to pay for Mom and Dad’s retirement. Homosexuality banned in the Bible? Well, then, let’s stone adulterers and lock up those shell-fish eaters (and don’t even get started about beard-cutters or those who don’t forgive debts every 7 years). Prayer in school? I’ve got your prayer in school right here, don’t we, Abdul? Or you, Sing Ha? Let’s go for it. Let’s see what the world looks like with these dingbats’ visions in power . . . well, let’s just do it in WA, okay?
