And Dana Blankenhorn, Too

While I'm momentarily back to the political mode, let me reiterate The Boy's call to link to Dana Blankenhorn's post on what's really important today. When this period is written up by historians, they will marvel at our ignorance and inattention. Folks, it's weather, water, and energy. Pure and simple. Anything else is superfluous, and, as Dana says, until somebody who can do something about it gets that, we're just a self-glorifying, polarized circle-jerk. (Well, he doesn't really say the latter. Actually . . . he does, but he's more civilized about it.)
