REstore the American Legacy

Back in another lifetime, when I lived in western Oklahoma, the state's license tag had the slogan "Oklahoma is OK." Inspiring, wasn't it? Made me proud. Of course, the small city where I lived had a sign over the entrance to its largest park that said, "Everyone's got to live somewhere. Why not (name of town)?" I'm sure there was a consultant paid.

Just as the Dems paid someone to come up with "Together, We Can Do Better." Maybe we'll make it up to "OK." Just as impressed, Christy over at Firedoglake is calling for the Dems to adopt a new
slogan, offering "It's time for America to get real." She then demonstrates how to use it effectively. If I may be bold (a couple of notches past "OK"), everything she lists could also be brought together under a single theme--REstore the American Legacy. Get it? RE.A.L. Fits on banners and everything and appeals to a lot more than the individual issues she outlines, plus allowing attacks on what's been lost--our place in human history premiering a nation founded on the principle (and hard-fought, increasing reality) of freedom and opportunity for everyone and responsive and democratic government.

Just a thought. Remember what you paid for it. Less than OK or my old town did.

Maybe.
