The guy who wrote the "Stern Report" that supposedly changed the way we all look at global warming? Well, he's basically been kicked out of the Labor govt by the new guy waiting to replace Blair. At some point, historians will be writing about the final legacy of Anglos, the disaster of major climate change. What is it about us that makes us such proud ignoramuses anyway? . . . Proof that utility companies could help solve global warming rather than resisting efforts to deal with it. Now if we can just figure out how to get more people signed on to "green" programs that do get offered (h/t Grist). . . . China may only have until 2010 to get its water house in order. But how hard could it be? . . . One of those thinking that planting forests can help solve the global warming problem? Well, not if forests actually raise the planet's temp. . . . Draining water from NV to AZ may not be that great an idea if you're in NV thinking about the future. One more drip of its own as the states start to figure out the long-term outlooks for their water use. . . . If the Pope gets the potential for water wars, then maybe the prospect is real, maybe people will pay attention. . . . More econ consequences from global warming-type weather in Australia, this time a 20-year low in wool production. . . . Expect the same to happen to CA's crop production by 2050. . . . Good news here, progress being made on "fourth generation" nuclear power that produces little long-term waste. Hope it works out. . . . Good news, bad news here. Our greenhouse emissions lighten up the upper atmosphere, making it possible to keep satellites up longer. And the space debris that rams into them. . . . And bad news here. Global warming making gingerbread houses in Sweden too damp to stand up anymore. Now that's just sad. Nothing's safe, is it?
