Oklahoma City - the new rock oasis?

Via largehearted boy, I found this interesting article about the rock talents emerging from the Oklahoma City area. I think it's safe to say that, when Wayne Coyne and the Flaming Lips are the "poster children", you're going to end up pretty weird. But I consider that a good thing.

(Guess my crack a while back about the Flaming Lips being the only non-country band to emerge from Oklahoma was a bit off. I lived in Oklahoma for 16 years and saw nothing remotely resembling a burgeoning rock scene, but hey...good for them...)
