It's been clear for some time now, before the reports starting to circulate now about fleet movement that signals coming attacks, that Bush the Younger and his neo-con horde will go after Iran, and sooner rather than later. Look, it's a no-lose situation. If he attacks Iran and has the same short-term "success" he had in Afghanistan and Iraq, then they can probably harness enough votes to pull out the 2006 elections without even monkeying with the electronic voting machines. If the Dems manage to gain one or both houses in 2006, Iran will already be a done-deal, versus having to deal with the Dems in a sudden position of power. What's not to love? He wins the 2006 elections and gets Iran, he loses the elections and gets Iran. It's the neo-con dream, regardless of the election. Once again, "Mission Accomplished." He'd be stupid not to do it. The only question is, will it be in June as some are predicting or closer to the election to allow less time for unsettling setbacks to start to show up? But other than that, folks, consider it done already and get ready to deal with it.
