The Next Economic Boom

British people spent 389 million dollars on illicit liaisons in the past three months.

Having an affair can be expensive - money is required for hotels, restaurants, clothes, dinners and gifts. According to an article by the British paper, The Guardian, the average tab of an affair per night is $600. The Guardian reported that 260,000 Brits are having illicit affairs.

This "affair economy" is booming. In Britain , the total amount that people spent on affairs increased by 60 percent over the last year.

The website which conducted the study,
Illicitcounters.org, found that people would rather pay for an affair than a divorce. Responses also showed that people chose having an affair over getting a divorce because it was better for their children.
